Phoenix Group and Sanjay Sethi Felicitated with ‘Sustainable Initiatives Award’ at Meet the Farmers

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 24, 2017: During the recently-held ‘Meet the Farmers Conference 2017’, at Waldorf Astoria, Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, Phoenix Global, a global value chain manager of commodities in the food staples and natural resource industries and its Director Sustainability – Sanjay Sethi, were jointly felicitated with the prestigious ‘Sustainable Initiatives Award’. Award was bestowed during the Gala dinner organized on 22nd November at Meet the Farmers Conference, an international conference on agriculture that serves as an international networking platform for large scale agricultural commodity producers and buyers.

Based in Dubai, Phoenix Group and Mr. Sanjay Sethi were bestowed with the honour in recognition of Phoenix Group’s extensive work on sustainable agricultural practices in Africa, UAE, Eurasia and South Asia, which has yielded social, economic and environmental benefits. Mr. Sanjay Sethi is a Sustainability and Impact investment leader developing and managing large commercial farms, agri infrastructure and making the businesses more sustainable. Mr. Sethi is a trusted advisor to various governments, corporations and investment funds with expertise recognized with awards including “The Africa Food Prize 2013”.

Mr Sanjay Sethi undertook various infrastructure projects like setting up India’s first Mega Food Park and India’s first Free Trade Warehousing Zone. He conceived and implemented food security projects in Africa business and managed an impact investment fund for Africa.

In the past, he was felicitated for his efforts in the realm of food security by the Government of Ras Al Khaimah, and by Governor Samuel Ortom, of Benue State, Nigeria, as the Minister of Commerce and Industry Nigeria.

Meet the Farmers Conference 2017, hosted from 21st to 22nd November in Dubai, saw stakeholders, government dignitaries, agro producers, distributors and investors from GCC and Africa came together to form potential business partnerships beyond borders. The event provided exhibitors and delegates with insights into agro commodity trading and business opportunities in Dubai and GCC, including import and exports requirements, laws and policies, financing, shipping, insurance and more.
